In the past month, Google and YouTube have encountered a crisis. Big brands – such as The Guardian, Verizon, AT&T and GlaxoSmithKline – have pulled their ads from these platforms.

They did this because the automated algorithm placed their ads next to extremist content that attacks or harasses people based on race, religion or gender.

Ginny Marvin of Marketing Land talks about how YouTube and Google are handling the crisis.

Our take is there’s a simple solution.

Instead of distributing your internet marketing to Google and YouTube (or Facebook, or any other large platform), you should distribute it to your own list.

Not only do you have control over the context of your marketing, but you also save money by not having to repeatedly pay to reach people.

When you have your own list, instead of paying to reach other people’s list, you turn your marketing from a liability into an asset. Click here to find out how we can help you with this.
