Today’s internet marketing news covers how to lose money and how to save money, and a few other expert opinions.

How to Lose Money

Ben Kahle of Wellings Capital hosts a podcast called How to Lose Money. One of his relatively recent episodes was an interview with Perry Marshall on his Amway days.

Perry Marshall has shaped the history of internet marketing. He is a best selling author who introduced many best practices in Google AdWords and pay-per-click marketing. In his more recent books and information products, he has also taught Facebook marketing and the 80/20 rule as it applies to marketing and sales.

Before all of that, however, he actually lost a lot of money in an Amway multi level marketing business. He shares his story with Ben here.

Does Design or Content Come First?

In the world of web design, there’s always been an argument about whether a website should be designed around its copy, or the copy should be shoe-horned into the design.

Rafal Tomal answers the question from a marketing perspective.

Quotation of the Day

“You can achieve a lot with a very good copy. Of course, a bad design can hurt, but if you just put high-quality copy in black on white background, you can sell products, you can tell stories, you can get subscribers. You wouldn’t be able to achieve this with an amazing design and really poor or no content.”
